Mechanical Designer

Attention all recent Mechanical Engineering Grads. Our Farm King Division located in Morden, Manitoba is growing and has a great opportunity for anyone who has mechanical engineering education and who has real life experience with farm equipment. Perhaps you grew up on a farm and helped Dad with operating and even repairing farm equipment. We value this experience immensely. This opportunity would allow you to showcase your skills and to be part of the engineering department,

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, you will design components of new products, complete changes and modifications to existing products, provide assistance to sales, production, quality, purchasing, service, and shipping.

FARM KING is a leader in building top quality farm implements for many agricultural applications. Products include grain augers, mowers, bale carriers, snow blowers and compact implements.

Farm King’s products are manufactured in Morden, Manitoba, Canada. Farm King has numerous warehouses across the United States and Canada for product setup and parts distribution. Key Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Design and develop components of new products and changes or modifications to existing products
  • Perform engineering calculations to ensure customer and safety requirements are met
  • Perform FEA simulations
  • Check and approve production drawings, instructions, manuals and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Coordinate the production implementation of new designs, cost reductions and other changes to existing designs
  • Support production, purchasing, service, and quality with changes or reviews to existing product

 


Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

 

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with agricultural equipment (farming) background is required
  • Experience working with AutoDesk Inventor or other similar program
  • Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of farm implements is required
  • Good initiative a drive to succeed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain and understand technical ideas and concepts
  • Capable of managing multiple ongoing projects
