Territory Sales Rep - Illinois and Iowa

Job Summary:

To promote and sell Versatile tractors and tillage equipment to our Agricultural Dealers network. Initiate dealer calls. Address any client questions and/or concerns. Deal with warranty issues. Demonstrate product and explain how using those products can reduce costs and increase sales for dealer. Stay informed about new and existing products and monitor sales, prices, and products of competition. Meet with all departments in dealerships and listen to their concerns and resolve issues as they come up. This position covers Illinois and Iowa. A vehicle, laptop and expense card are provided. We also offer medical insurance and 401K.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

●  Represent Versatile to customers and prospects in the assigned region

●  Identify customer needs including accurate selection of products, pricing, promotions and systems to meet those needs

●  Service customers in an economical and systematic order of rotation, prospect for new accounts, analyze and organize activity in the territory

●  Introduce new products and demonstrate features and uses (delivery of seminars to develop customer awareness of company value-added strategies, cost reduction initiatives, and partnership concepts)

●  Call on internal sales specialists to introduce new lines or demonstrate the effectiveness of existing products and services

●  Attend sales meetings, branch meetings, industry shows or conventions as required

●  Responsible and accountable for achieving sales growth objectives in whole goods and parts

●  Maintain a keen awareness of agricultural needs and opportunities, and economic conditions within the assigned territory

●  Liaison between dealer and service department for warranty issues

●  Handle dealer calls in a professional and cordial manner to enhance customer satisfaction

●  Make sure dealer accounts are up to date

●  Encourage dealers to order stock

●  Resolve issues as they come up

●  Attend open houses and promote our products

●  Talk to end-users or potential ones with the dealer

●  Send in call reports every time we call on a dealer

●  Complete inventory audits and money collections as required

●  Assess the ability of the dealer to support the product and the customer through the parts / service and sales departments

●  Assess the dealers market potential and ensure the proper product is on hand / on order to support this potential

●  Conduct or ensure product training is attended from a sales and service perspective

●  Attend and man trade shows to provide product knowledge and represent the company and product (corporate & dealer sponsored)

●  Identify territory open spots and work to fill these locations with qualified and committed dealers to grow the business today and into the future

●  Mediate parts - service - warranty and customer issues that may arise from time to time

●  Be vigilant of a dealers financial situation and any changes that may have a negative impact in the future

●  Be knowledgeable of the competitors product and programs to be sure we are competitive in the market place - as well to be able to council the dealers sales people in comparing apples to apples when quoting against the competition

●  Update management on changing market trends and opportunities

●  Canvas dealers for stock orders at various times of year for different product lines

●  Secure orders ongoing for other products on a daily basis. (ex. Loaders)

●  Make dealer sales people aware of features and benefits of Buhler products and ongoing sales programs

●  Arrange delivery of product. Which may include delivering those items with company supplied vehicle and trailer

●  Supply dealership with current parts and wholegoods pricing

●  To make sure that literature is displayed in the dealership for access to retail customers

●  Following up on orders to ensure timely shipping and availability

●  Forecasting sales and working towards meeting those goals on an annual basis

●  Represent the company - product and brand - in a positive and professional manner at all times

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

●  University/College degree or diploma in Business Administration or Marketing, or a related field

●  Previous agricultural equipment sales experience at a retail or wholesale level required

●  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

●  Strong interpersonal skills

●  Proven negotiation ability

●  Working knowledge of agriculture and agricultural equipment an asset

●  Mechanical/technical aptitude is a definite asset

●  Strong analytical skills, computer literacy and excellent presentation skills

●  Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships

●  High level of drive and initiative

●  Strong time management skills

●  Able to work under minimal supervision

●  Valid drivers license is imperative

●  Maintain professionalism both in appearance and attitude

●  Solid agriculture background


Typical Work environment:


●  Extensive travel required (up to 75%), some overnight

●  Remuneration is compensation-based, in addition to base salary

●  Work-incurred expenses are paid by the company

●  A company vehicle is provided

●  Attend and represent company at various trade shows and events etc.

●  Be willing to answer your phone at all times of the day

●  There are no set hours, you need to be available when Equipment Dealers need you

●  Driving in all type of weather conditions
